After the inauguration of the 34th Korean American Association of Kansas City (KC) under the presidency of Kim Seong-bae, Project Manager Lee In-gyu, who was responsible for the KC Korean Association's website construction team, successfully launched the KC website on time. On July 17th (Sunday), a plaque of appreciation was presented at the KC Korean Association office to honor his hard work, as Lee In-gyu is returning to Korea. We wish him continued success and cherish the good memories he has from his time in Kansas.
On Saturday, August 13, 2022, the Korean Sports Association of Kansas (President: Kim Dae-jung) hosted the "77th Liberation Day Memorial Softball Tournament" at the Heritage Park Softball Field in Kansas City. Five teams from the Kansas City area participated, including Central Methodist Church of Kansas, Mission Church of Kansas, Kansas Business Team, Antioch Church of Kansas, and the Kansas Soccer Club Team. The event marked a joyful resumption of softball games that had been paused due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The players and spectators united in spirited support, making each game enjoyable and exciting. The tournament, played in a league format, concluded with Central Methodist Church of Kansas taking first place with four wins, followed by Mission Church of Kansas with three wins and one loss, and Kansas Business Team in third place with two wins and two losses. The MVP of the tournament was Jo Sung-moon from Central Methodist Church, recognized for his outstanding offensive and defensive skills. The awards for the softball tournament were presented during the Liberation Day ceremony held at Full Gospel Church of Kansas on August 14th (Sunday). We extend our gratitude to all the churches, organizations, and businesses that actively participated and supported the August 15th Liberation Day Memorial Softball Tournament.
