2022 Korea's Liberation Day 77th Anniversary Worship Service and Ceremony

On Sunday, August 14, 2022, the Kansas City Ministers' Association, led by Pastor Kim Kyung-min, held the "77th Anniversary Korea's Liberation Day Worship Service" at the Full Gospel Church of Kansas. Many faithful from various churches in the Kansas area attended. The worship service began with a time of grace-filled praise and worship led by the praise team of the Full Gospel Church of Kansas, followed by the service led by Pastor Lee Kang-san of Lawrence Presbyterian Church and prayers by Elder Lee Ju-chan (Kansas Immanuel Methodist Church). Pastor Kim Kyung-min of the Full Gospel Church of Kansas delivered a sermon titled "Human Effort, God’s Power" based on 1 Chronicles 9:1-2. The service concluded with the singing of Hymn 582 ("In the Dark of the Night") and the benediction by Pastor Kim Kyung-min.

Following the worship service, the 77th Anniversary Liberation Day Ceremony was conducted with Ham Young-soo, Vice President of the Korean American Association of Kansas City, as the host. The ceremony began with the national salute and the singing of the national anthem, followed by a moment of silence in honor of the patriotic martyrs and heroes. Afterward, a meaningful commemorative address was delivered by Kim Seong-bae, the 34th President of the Korean American Association of Kansas City. The attendees then sang the Liberation Day song robustly, accompanied by Professor Im So-yeon and Dr. Lee Kyung-mi. The ceremony proceeded with the awards presentation for the Liberation Day Memorial Softball Tournament, led by Kim Dae-jung, President of the Kansas Sports Association. The ceremony concluded with the heartfelt sharing of Liberation Day experiences by Advisor Kim Young-ryeol, who experienced the liberation of August 15 during his elementary school days, followed by three cheers for the development of South Korea and reunification of North and South Korea.
